Striking out as an innovator and entrepreneur Kathleen has created multiple musical concerts and productions. After the successful launch of the musical trio Canto Zenzero, Kathleen collaborated with fellow pianist Riko Higuma and production manager Jordan Monson to create KJR Studio Productions in 2020. Through this boutique style studio she has developed and produced multiple diverse concerts over the past several years. Featuring favorite concerts as Die Fledermaus in Concert, Classically Celtic, Gershwin and Company, and Sea to Shining Sea. Each concert seamlessly combines musical genre favorites, with vocal and piano solos and duets into a compelling musical experience.
Soprano Kathleen Monson and Pianist Riko Higuma have been collaborating together for over a decade. Meeting at Manhattan School of Music, the two artists have been gaining attention for their diverse concerts, fusing their talents to create a stunning performance that seamlessly crosses the boundaries of musical genres. As individual artists, each brings to the duo an impressive list of accomplishments, including performances in Le Nozze di Figaro, Die Fledermaus, Madama Butterfly, Fidelio, Gianni Schicchi and A Christmas Carol. In addition they have been featured with companies such as, The New York Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Zodiac Trio, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Norwegian Opera House, The Princeton Festival, Opernfest Prague, and New DOCTA festival in Argentina to name a few. Each concert can be modified for a forty-five, sixty, or ninety minute concert, and are adaptable for one, two or three voices.
